Overview
Carried out adhoc tasks in my placement and got to know my team. Had intern activities such as working on a group project and attending callings. Time for self-lead learning.
Skills
I have learnt how to code in SQL from Datacamp. I have also worked on soft skills such as communication, team working skills, leadership and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
I was given some responsibility but mostly no.
Support & Guidance
My manager was receptive to my feedback and we had open discussions about my progress. However sometimes I felt like I was left in the dark. When my manager was on holiday I did not feel like I had much support.
Culture
I enjoyed the company culture. The place was very relaxed. Everyone was very friendly and were happy to help. People actively encouraged me to not work past 5pm. The culture was one of the things I enjoyed the most.
Your Impressions
There were aspects I enjoyed and others not so much. I did not feel that interested or fulfilled my placement tasks. I wish they had given me something more technical, as I was in a technical team. I enjoyed the people in my team and the relationships I built. I liked the place and the culture. There are a lot of really interesting projects and work going on, I was just not given this.
