Overview
Attending meetings with my team and clients. Producing information packs about new partnerships. Attending events and networking with partners and clients. Group intern business project in which we had to create a product to hyperpersonalise a customer's experience with their money and present back to our managers.
Skills
I have developed an understanding of how banks function and more specifically commercial banks. I have developed my networking skills and learnt how to partake in and set up client meetings. I have also improved my presentation and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
I was given a good level of responsibility, I felt trusted whilst also not feeling to overwhelmed. There was a good balance of direction and self led tasks.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support which was great. We were partnered with a grad to be our buddy which was a big help. My line manager was also fantastic along with the wider team. There is a great culture in the bank of support and good relationships.
Culture
Very warm and friendly. There is a big emphasis on work life balance and support that stretches to even outside work matters. Very encouraging with further learning and qualifications.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my placement and I would love to return for the grad scheme.
Yes
Be curious, there are so many people in the bank who want to see you thrive and are willing to help you. Speak to as many people as possible to really get to know the bank and how it works, there is a wealth of opportunities available to you.
