Overview
I worked within Internal Audit Technology team called Group Functions Technology. The role involved auditing the groups applications and related controls that they rely on to operate.
Skills
Yes a variety of skills - auditing knowledge, presentation skills, communication, confidence, collaboration, working at pace.
Responsibilities
I was tasked to write 2 important audit CDA's. This was a high-level of responsibility as it was a real audit that the team was conducting. I was given appropriate oversight and thoroughly enjoyed completing them. I also completed an important excel document which the entire team relies upon to decide which audits to do over the year.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support and guidance. Firstly, my buddy was excellent in providing me with any help I needed throughout the entirety of the internship and made me feel very welcome. Colleagues within the team were very supportive and provided me with work/help on work which I was doing. The management also helped assure I had stuff to do and felt at ease. Overall, the team were fantastic in accomedating me.
Culture
The culture and general atmosphere was great. Within my team, I felt very welcome but also valued despite only being an intern. This made me feel connected to the entire team and the atmosphere amongst the team themselves was brilliant. The company culture was brilliant - an emphasis on hard work but prioritising mental wellbeing.
