Overview
My role involves working on a project I've been assigned to undertake as part of the internship. Every day I have a scrum meeting with the team, practice self-led learning while working on the task assigned. I participate in events organised by the company, network with other interns/graduates/or colleagues.
Skills
I have learn a wide variety of skills. In particular, I have developed my skills in AWS EMR, EC2, S3, and Athena. I have also learned PySpark and Airflow. Furthermore, I have improved my networking, collaboration, ideation, design, presentation, and programming skills.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given the responsibility to manage the AWS EMR version upgrade for the team. This is something that had never been done before by anyone in the team, hence, it was a great responsibility to have.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of support. From my managers, assigned buddies, colleagues, and people I have met in general.
Culture
The company culture was great. Everyone is very friendly and I got the chance to have a meeting with one of the executives in the company.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed it. I have not only developed a lot of technical and behavioural skills, but I've got the change to get a refined perspective of what the industry is like, and what areas I may develop my career into.
Yes
Understand what the company's values and objectives are and link them to yours. This will show why you're particularly interested and have the drive to become a valuable person for the bank.
