Overview
Learn how to manage the business from customer service level to working with corporate clients. Marketing to local accounts, going through monthly statements of profit and loss to boost business performance. Work towards an internal management qualification. Learning systems to manage reservations and customers. Drive customers cars, collecting and dropping to various different locations. Lots of travelling involved.
Skills
Definitely. Improved customer service skills, people management and organization. You learn how to set expectations through under promising and over delivering.
Responsibilities
Your given a lot of responsibility. Although your an intern in the business your the seen as the same level as a graduate so there's no difference on responsibility. If you work hard and achieve great results you'll be rewarded.
Support & Guidance
You have monthly meetings with managers called PDM. Here you can talk about what support you may need. Each intern also gets assigned an mentor which is available whenever.
Culture
Sometimes the days will be long with a lot of traveling and tough customers. It may be busy 24/7 if your in a popular location but the team is what keeps you going. It's like a family culture where everyone looks after each other. The branch is like a family.
Your Impressions
I definitely had a great placement experience. It was a tough year from being a student to a full time employee but nonetheless I grew as a person through my soft skills and being more confident in general.
Yes
Before you apply be prepared to work long hours. It isn't a 5PM finish and most likely you'll be putting in extra hours. However once you have got to assistant manager that's where you'll be on a commission structure. The harder you work, the more likely you'll be promoted. If your looking for a 9-5 then isn't for you. At enterprise it's like managing your own business.
