Overview
Two rotations, very similar tasks: 1) credit financing: portfolio analysis, credit memos, due diligence, pitches, market updates, client meetings. 2) ABS: model reviews, pitches, calculating returns, client meetings, deal-basis
Skills
A lot! modelling, client relations, understanding on the market, product and industry understanding....
Responsibilities
Yes, my first rotation was at a smaller team, so most of what I did went directly to clients/the larger team, which meant I had a big responsibility. Moreover, my team made me feel very valuable in terms of the work I was producing. On my second rotation, each deal comprises 3 people, and since a lot of people from my team went on mandatory, I was much more involved in the whole deal
Support & Guidance
Very much, I always felt I could ask any question to my team, and received any additional guidance when needed. Moreover, I was given plenty of resources to understand the different products, which I really appreciated. Furthermore, both of my managers have been very supportive and made sure I always felt valuable to the team
Culture
Very flat organization, I always had the feeling I could ask questions to anyone, or catch-up with everybody, which I enjoyed a lot. Moreover, I did not feel any sort of "bad competitiveness" ambience, and instead I felt I had a team of people I could rely on. Something I really liked was how international each team was, and also how many women there are at Citi!
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it, having previously done other internships, I can honestly say this was the best. I felt the work I did was relevant to the team, that I was very valued as a team mate. Moreover, I really liked the culture at Citi, and I found a lot of people I "want to be like" career and personal wise, so I couldn't have asked for a better experience!
