Overview
My role consisted of preparing engagement letters for clients but also preparing and submitting tax returns to HMRC. Moreover, calls with HMRC were frequent but tasks varied depending on what was needed
Skills
I have developed my time management abilities however I have also developed my presenting and team working skills
Responsibilities
I was given a level of responsibility I was comfortable with. The team trusted me to carry out tasks and these tasks were reviewed by colleagues and senior managers. However reviews are common and not specific to interns, but those full time as well
Support & Guidance
I received a significant level of advice and help from my colleagues within my team. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and asking questions was encouraged
Culture
It was a really nice place to work for the six weeks I was there. The culture was friendly and I didn’t feel pressured into rushing tasks to reach a deadline.

Yes
Don’t stress too much about technical knowledge prior to the first day. I have found that what is more important to the team is a willingness to learn, which is arguably the most important quality to have
