The Role
I was fortunate enough to do two different jobs during my placement so the work was varied and enjoyable
I wasn't introduced as a student but as another member of the finance team
I was part of teams that had a wealth of experience not just within IBM but within the finance sector and they were happy to pass this knowledge on
I was able to expand my job role, although with any job in finance it was subject to fluctuations in work because of the reporting cycle around month and quarter end
I had the opportunity to work independently and had to ensure I completed what I was required to and had to responsible to managing my time and workload
I have been able to really develop my skills over this year
The Company
fairly corporate but relaxed
All processes were well organised
there was compulsory training days but generally there was also more of a push to finding the training that was applicable and interesting to you
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Annoying that regardless of your performance throughout the year, you still have to go through a lengthy re-application process
The Culture
yes lots of events throughout the year
Lived at home
Central London, so was incredible
A whole Giveback scheme to help community based projects
