Overview
I montitor the a task ID answering queries and dealing with queries in a timely manner. I also raise, chase and track POs and EPATs making sure that external clients are paid promtly and correctly for their services/products. Another major part of my day to day is preparing for month end opertations. At month end I am responsible for ensuring successful nil out of Foundation Accounts
Skills
Throughout my year at IBM I believe a range of my skills have improved significantly. My confidence has increased massively, my excell skills have drastically improved and my problem solving skills have also improved. I've also learnt how to comunicate in corporate/business environments and network with both interns and people higher up.
Responsibilities
Yes, I believe throughout the year I was given a huge amount of responisbility, which at times coud be very stressful. However I found that my team, task manager and foundation manager were incredibly supportive and were happy to help whenever needed even if it was just to double check something
Support & Guidance
I recieved quite a lot of support and guidance throughout my placement. I found that my team and managers were always happy to help. I had weekly meetings with my managers to discuss any quieries or issues I may have that week as well as ocassional meeting to discuss how im doing and reflect. Wider in IBM i found people were also rather supportive
Culture
I really liked the general atmosphere at IBM. This is probably mainly due to the large amount of Interns and other early proffesionals that IBM hires. There was a large range of communities for early proffesionals that you could join which made networking with other early proffesionals a lot eaier. In additon to this i found everyone was happy to help you out which was really nice
Your Impressions
I thougroughly enjoyed my internship, one reason for this is i got to work within a team largly made up of early professionals which was fantastic from a social aspect. I also had supportive managers which helped reduced stress greatly, solve problems and help me enjoy the internship to the fullest
Yes
Make sure to sell yourself to the best of your ability, don't be modest. Prepare for your interview, doing some reasarch about IBM and its projects may help. Try to answer questions enthusiastically and truthfully. Try to stand out, be creative and memorable (only for the right reasons tho)
