Overview
Communicating with the other LOB's within the business, while rotating around the different risk teams. Amending policies as well as daily tasks checking Fx exposures, portfolio exposures. Conducted a research project over the 10-week program, which allowed for great communication across the entire Dublin office
Skills
Some key new skills are networking, risk management and being resourceful. I also developed my excel and presentation skills, as well as communication.
Responsibilities
Not as much responsibility as i had hoped for. Rotating across the different teams meant i couldnt get a big deep dive into a certain area and therefore i couldn't get involved in much high responsibility tasks
Support & Guidance
There was a lot of guidance from the program and development officer, with weekly meetings allowing us to develop our soft skills and get exposure to high executives and key personnel.
Culture
It was a great and open culture, which allowed me to get on really well with other staff. The culture was very linear and allowed for the easiness to approach high-up managers and executives.
Your Impressions
It was very enjoyable and even though the Dublin interns were separate to the London interns there was still opportunity to connect with them. The work itself was also very informative and helped to develop new and existing skills.
Yes
Don't be afraid to ask questions and meaningful networking is very important.
