Skills
I learned many new concepts of the financial world, whether in accounting or investments. I learned a lot about the strategic landscape of the insurance/asset management world. I reinforced my soft skills.
Responsibilities
It was really positive, as I was given genuine work to do that my team will rely on in the future. It did not feel like kiddie intern work at all. My team also provided me with a lot of support, but did not handhold me throughout the internship.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support. Within my specific team, they were always ready to answer any questions I asked them, no matter how broad they were. I was also supported by a great early careers team.
Culture
It was nothing like I expected, way more positive than I thought finance would be. People really treated me with respect, even in the little things like asking if I wanted a bottle of water or opening the door for me. I did not feel that anyone scoffed at any of my questions, or thought they were too basic to answer. People took curiosity in my background and work.
Your Impressions
Greatly so! I loved all the interns, they are amazing people. I loved my team, they're funny, friendly, informative. I couldn't have asked for a better team.
