The Role
I really enjoyed my overall placement but I believe it's because I grabbed every opportunity, as the job alone wouldn't have been enough.
I felt valued by my colleagues, as I was given responsibility within the team and made to feel like an 'IBMer' rather than a student on placement.
The support and guidance is there but I felt that you are left on your own to work and solve problems qute a lot but this isn't necessarily a bad thing as it prepares you for the real world. Also the large student population means you have a huge support network at IBM.
It 100% varies! Some days were really busy but others were quiet. You are expected to use the time wisely through online learning etc, which I did and towards the end, the more responsibility you take on - the less free time you have!
Quite a lot but only because I asked for more
Working for a year in itself means you learn a huge amount. I would recommend a placement to anyone! Especially one at IBM.
The Company
It varies as a lot of people work from home or different locations throughout the week. Friday are very quiet.
