Overview
My role was to support the process of helping clients dispose of or acquire office buildings. My day-to-day tasks consisted of conducting extensive research on regional office markets to write quarterly reports, analyzing property data to determine its market value, creating client brochures, and attending property tours, which required close collaboration with my team. Additionally, I assisted with administrative tasks such as updating leasing documents, including Heads of Terms and Tenancy Schedules.
Skills
Yes! I've gained a strong understanding of the industry overall and have learned how to thoroughly analyze properties by using data from the market, reviewing recent deals, and so much more. Working with so many documents, brochures, and data daily has also made me more attentive to detail, and collaborating closely with my team every day has also allowed me to build genuine relationships with my colleagues and improve my collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
Yes, that was what made the experience so rewarding to me! I felt like I had the trust and confidence of my colleagues to assist in various ways. Whether it was with revising the template of a tenancy schedule or taking part in larger tasks like helping clients identify buildings with high investment potential, the scope of my work was wide-ranging which made each day exciting.
Support & Guidance
I received an incredible amount of support and guidance. My supervisor went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcomed and provided me with guidance on what was expected of me for work. I also developed a strong bond with my team, which made me feel comfortable to seek guidance. Additionally, the HR team was extremely supportive, organizing workshops focused on our well-being, and the other interns were friendly and easygoing!
Culture
The company culture and general atmosphere were both well-structured and exciting. Each day had a consistent routine, and I knew what was expected of me. The people within the company were incredibly friendly and approachable. From the first day, it was clear that everyone genuinely cared about each other, especially within my team. I also felt comfortable with reaching out to colleagues from different teams to grab a coffee and learn more about their work.
Your Impressions
The internship was truly a positive and rewarding experience for me. It was surprising how much knowledge I gained about the industry in a time frame of just four weeks. I felt comfortable and confident in the work assigned to me, and most importantly, I formed genuine bonds with my team members and the other interns. These connections added special value to my overall experience.
Yes
I would highly recommend to future applicants of Knight Frank to connect with current or former members of the company to gain firsthand insights into the working culture and the nature of their work. Additionally, I would advise researching and understanding the different teams within the company and identifying specific ones that align with the applicant's interests, skills, and experiences. Above all, bring a positive attitude!
