Overview
There were two rotations and so this role varied, however one of the tasks was to assist with regulatory reporting on behalf on the company's dealings in the UK, and the other role consisted of me aiding recertification processes on behalf of the bank.
Skills
Most definitely! I have been able to improve my previously non existent excel skills, as well as developing my Powerpoint skills. I have also been able to improve my ability to take feedback on board, as well as working better in a team of people and improving my presenting skills.
Responsibilities
It varied depending on the role. As an intern I don't expect much responsibility to be bestowed on me because of the amount of time that I am here for, however in at least one of the rotations I felt like I made a positive impact to the team with the task that I was given
Support & Guidance
Again, it varied depending on the rotation. Some people were incredibly helpful though; offering me detailed tutorials on how complete tasks that they had set out for me. We also had the advantage of being given buddies and mentors that we could speak to about any given topic of concern.
Culture
The company culture at Deutsche Bank is absolutely amazing! You feel comfortable speaking to everyone at the bank and every person is so helpful and friendly! An ideal place to work at for sure! There are also a lot of social groups that promote inclusivity in different manners.
Your Impressions
I definitely enjoyed it a lot. Getting a feel of working in the banking industry was valuable experience that I will definitely take with me into any future roles I found myself in. There were also ample networking opportunities where I could meet other people in other areas of the bank and receive more insight into what they do. Only pleasant reviews!
Yes
Advice that I would give is to be open minded and strive to learn as much as possible as well as interacting with as many people as possible. It is such a big bank with so many different unique people and so there are endless opportunities to learn and interact with someone new!
