Overview
Mainly involved in work requests from the client team, involving using software to update assumptions about clients. A lot of excel/Exodus( the company software for client information) was used. Worked on a summer intern project which was presented at the end of the internship.
Skills
This internship has greatly developed my teamwork/communication skills, technical skills, confidence and also helped me gain a great insight into the actuarial career
Responsibilities
Yes, after the first couple weeks we were given responsibility of the work we were doing and having meetings with different members within the company about the work. This was a great experience to have been given so much independence.
Support & Guidance
The support offered by colleagues was incredible, everyone was so kind and helpful and answered questions whenever asked.
Culture
It's a very friendly, laid back yet hard-working environment. The office is very welcoming and everyone is very friendly.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed the internship, it was a great experience and a fantastic introduction to the actuarial world.
Yes
Be yourself; it's great to get an internship but you want to make sure that you actually align with the companies values and will enjoy your time here and fit in well.
