Overview
Developing actuarial skills including: undertaking individual member calculations, producing reports (such as valuations/ factor reviews), and undergoing lots of learning exercises.
Skills
Yes massively understand what roles actuaries possess and how to do the tasks that they do - all of which I had very minimal knowledge on before starting the internship.
Responsibilities
Somewhat - Aon offers a do check review model meaning that any work that a graduate would complete would undergo the same amount of checking as the work that I'd complete.
Support & Guidance
Lots, my whole team answered all the questions I had and were approachable throughout my whole experience.
Culture
Welcoming, whilst professional in the sense of getting work done - they also were kind enough to engage in conversation both educationally and personally.
Your Impressions
10/10 it was a great experience working in a great team understanding a role that I am keen to develop myself in.
Yes
Keep an open mind - you'll have the opportunity to try and learn about a variety of teams and solution lines, so don't close yourself onto just one.
