Overview
Worked in Marine Cargo broking. My day-to-day consists of looking at accounts up for renewal, looking into tax exemptions/regulations. Meetings with underwriters/other colleagues within the business.
Skills
Developed better time management skills. Built up my independence/confidence to be able to work out of my comfort zone, as well as meeting or working with new people.
Responsibilities
Yes: was given a project to work on by myself with a presentation to the rest of my team at the end. Was given full independent reign of the project
Support & Guidance
Was offered plenty of support by my buddy, as well as other interns in the office.
Culture
Everyone is very friendly and open to helping. People are easy to talk to and offer great advice and support. There is a big emphasis on work-life balance: everyone works at their own pace but still meets deadlines set.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship to a large extent.
Yes
Make sure to talk to as many people as possible, even outside your solution lines. That is the best way to find out more about the company/business and understand what path is best for you
