Overview
My everyday looked quite different for the time I've been working and I can say that this for me was a positive as I never got bored or tire of work. I had to do quite a lot of member benefit calculations and also got involved in client meetings and accounting work.
Skills
I've learned a lot of pensin schemes which I wasn't too knowledgable in. I've definitely greatly developed my communication, time management and organisational skills. I improved a lot on Excel and got very comfortable of using complex functions on it.
Responsibilities
I've had the chance to be quite involved in almost all areas I was able to as an intern, which was definitely much more than I would have expect.
Support & Guidance
I was assigned 2 buddies both of which were very helpful and answered every question I had. I also had a very lovely manager to whom I was able to communicate any concerns or questions very comfortably. Everyone made me very welcome and comfortable to be my authentic self.
Culture
My office has a lot of new recruits as well as a few senior people. The office culture was very welcoming and friendly. It was definitely friendlier than expected, where everyone made sure to include you in any event/social.
Your Impressions
For my first ever work experience, I definitely got one of the best out there. I enjoyed my time working here.
Yes
Feel free to show up with your authentic self and don't feel scared to ask any questions and trust in yourself and your abilities.
