  • Have enjoyed this placement and everyone has been great to work with

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Recognised by many for the work I was doing though more recognition from others would have been better

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Was helped not only by Foundation part of IBM but also managers and mentors too

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the beginning I sometimes struggled finding work though as I settled into my role I became much more busier

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Learned important information about myself and how to excel in work that I am doing, adding to this most of the information I learned was more IBM specific so it would be ideal if i could return as a grad. Adding to this I found lots of helpful tips when I go back to uni especially for completing my dissertation

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Mostly I was able to enjoy myself with those I worked with, though at times it could be quite boring if lots of people worked from home.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • In transitioning into the role this was brilliant everything was set up and any tasks I had to complete I had brilliant handover sessions.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was able to complete Project management education, though due to spending cuts alot of education was not available if it had to be paid for.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have the chance to apply for the grad scheme early for IBM as I have been an IT I also get the chance to skip some steps of the process after doing well in my placement year

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene where I was based was not great, however I made the most with what I had and made close friends with one IT in particular. The social scene and amount of students elsewhere is much better than in Greenock where I was! In North Harbour IBM there is a much better students environment.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I already lived where I did my placement as such It was very cheap for me to go out

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in Greenock itself is not the best though is a decent night out, however you are not far from Glasgow and their are excellent transport links which is much better night out!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I had the chance to do several giveback activities such as going to universities and events, though these were the only opportunities available to me.

    4/5
