Overview
Worked on Tableau dashboards and writing Python code for my team. Communicated between different departments to provide my team access to code packages written elsewhere. Attended learning sessions and networking socials.
Skills
I've had the chance to develop my technical skills as well as soft skills such as stakeholder management, presentation skills and confidence with public speaking. I've also learned how to network effectively and how to find useful departmental contacts for my work.
Responsibilities
Given my technical background, I was provided the opportunity to pioneer some Python projects for my team. My manager was flexible with how I approached this and I was given freedom with how I explored and implemented what was asked of me.
Support & Guidance
I received plenty of support during my time at the FCA. The members of my core team were almost always on hand to answer any questions I had. Also, colleagues in other departments were friendly and always had time to spare in supporting me.
Culture
Super friendly, I got on well with pretty much everyone. Being in the office was fun and I felt very comfortable with my colleagues.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the internship and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for experience and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on a reputable organisation.
