Monitor local council planning application process, look at planning history for various sites. Take minutes for various meetings, conference. Learn how the planning application in real life works through the use of planning portal.
Skills
I have learnt to access the public data base for planning applications in different councils, how to write some parts of the appraisal, had a deeper look through planning policies, deeper understanding on development plans, local plans. Had s deeper understanding on the new things that are happening in the industry.
Responsibilities
I was given responsibilities through out the internship but just enough not to fill up all my capacity.
Support & Guidance
The whole team was supportive and answer my confusions whenever I need it so people are generally helpful, from all levels of staff.
Culture
The company seems to be working as a team, but interactions between people from different department is not as usual. But everyone is helpful when it comes to anything people ask. For example, when there is staff from another office, people in the office are very welcoming. And as an intern, I felt very welcomed the whole month.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship as I did learn a lot more about the industry in real life.
Yes
