Overview
The type of tasks I get given depend on which team I am in at that stage of my rotation and what their normal job roles are. E.g. In the Valuation and Recoveries and Receivership teams I was mainly focusing on filling in reports with the relevant details and researching comparable properties, whereas in the property management team I was more focused on updating spreadsheets and checking information was correct.
Skills
Applying some of my degree learning in a professional setting has been very satisfying. I have also learnt so much about each of the teams I have worked with during my time at Savills.
Responsibilities
I was surprised at the amount of responsibility I was given, it felt very satisfying to be working on actual reports and I felt the work I was doing very much held value.
Support & Guidance
Each time I was given a task to complete, my mentor would explain all details of the task and how it would be important/why it was needed.
Culture
The office atmosphere was so friendly, I felt very comfortable in all of the teams I have worked in and walking around the office generally.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement and felt it was very valuable and relevant experience to the career in property I want to pursue.
Yes
Be open to making connections, property is a very people-focused business! Make sure you know the Savills company well before applying.
