Overview
As an actuarial consulting intern, I have been involved in a variety of tasks. Most of the time, my role has been calculating transfer values for members in pension schemes. On a day-to-day basis, I mainly use excel to do these calculations. I also worked on our Aon United Project weekly, throughout my internship. I interacted with many colleagues at different stages in their categories.
Skills
I have developed my excel skills and enhanced my communication and team working skills, both through working on different client teams and working on the project.
Responsibilities
I had to carry out work for different client teams which needed to be sent out within a certain deadline so I was under time pressure and had the responsibility to complete the work at a high standard.
Support & Guidance
I received a great amount of support and guidance as everybody working in my team was ready to help and answer my questions.
Culture
The company has a great culture, very inclusive and diverse. It's a very safe space and everyone is ready to teach and spend time with the interns.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship as I gained a lot of knowledge and real-world experience.
Yes
Research Aon well and understand Aon's values. Don't be nervous. Be prepared and know a little bit about the background of pensions.
