Overview
taking online training classes, attending meetings, completing accounts in Excel, and preparing reports. Deal advisorys clients are business owners looking to sell or buy a stake in their organisation. The team you are allocated to will determine whether you work with customers in the infrastructure, energy, private equity, or consumer sectors. Some individuals rotated within different teams as well. Because I was given this assignment to work on, I undertook a number of jobs for it.
Skills
Because you work with Excel a lot, I significantly increased my proficiency in it. I picked up a number of shortcuts and excelled at using it much more effectively. I gained self-assurance and the capacity for initiative since, in order to get the most out of the training, it's crucial to get in touch with a variety of individuals, talk to them, and engage with them. I also gained a better awareness of the terms and mechanics of the transactions process.
Responsibilities
I received a fair deal of responsibility. My work was performed specifically for a client because I was working on a specific project. When given a task, I was given the impression that I had responsibility for it since I was trusted to do it as soon as I learned how to do it and that the task would not be checked too closely. In fact, the client report contained some of the tasks I completed.
Support & Guidance
I had excellent assistance and direction. I had a friend and a performance manager who offered advice, but I also had the impression that I could ask anyone a question and they would be happy to help. We were given some direction about what to anticipate from the programme on the induction day and throughout the online training sessions the first week, and we were able to keep in touch with the internship team during the course of the four-week period.
Culture
What I noticed was that the workplace culture was excellent. Although different people may have different experiences due to the size of the firm, my experience was 100% positive. In a nice way, the environment was far more laid-back than I had anticipated. The crew was accommodating when it came to working from home, and everyone got along well at work. I loved that the dress code was smart yet still casual. Most people wore shirts, but ties were uncommon.
Your Impressions
No matter whether you think a job in this field is for you, I strongly suggest it because I really enjoyed my placement. It was still a fantastic experience to earn some money and experience the corporate atmosphere as this teaches you a lot of skills, including communication in that sort of environment. I do not consider myself sure if I will accept the graduate scheme offer because there are other opportunities that I am considering, but it was still a great experience to earn some money and experience the corporate world.
Yes
You should thoroughly investigate the firm before applying since you must be able to show that you are knowledgeable about and interested in the organisation. Do not simply repeat what is said on the website; instead, put it in your own words and explain to the interviewer why it appeals to you. You must also exercise patience because the application procedure is drawn out and it may take some time for your offer to be confirmed even if you are accepted. However, wait—it will be worthwhile.
