Overview
Sitting in meetings where i would do the minutes, make important notes (some for myself) , and sit in to listen to the updates on the projects. Some filing do do with new documents and I got to have my own mini-project within the project during my time so that kept me occupied. Going onto site to check on the project, doing check ups to see what has been or hasn't been done/
Skills
Didn't know how to use Excel before but now I have the basic knowledge to use it. I also didn't know about SharePoint but having initiated a switch from RDrive to SharePoint and have been using it for documentation I am very confident in it.
Responsibilities
Yes. Was able to have mini-projects which I oversaw and led a few meetings regarding it.
Support & Guidance
Very good. I had a line manager who I would check in with almost everyday. I also had a mentor who helped me with the professional side which i calls with her twice a week and i also had a buddy who was someone closer in age and a grad student so was able to relate to me. Everyone at the office was really lovely and willing to help.
Culture
Everyone was very positive and there was never any animosity and everyone loved coming into work which was nice to witness.
Your Impressions
Enjoyed coming in to the workplace with my cohort became close with them all like a family which was nice to have as a support system and we'd hang out after work. I really enjoyed it so I extended it by an extra 3 weeks.
Yes
To enjoy your time there especially if an intern because time goes really quickly and to reach out to others in the organisation if you find a particular sector interesting so you can do a few bits of work in that department.
