Overview
Worked in the public cloud team, for the internship developed stand-alone project that would help our team. Worked on creating application that would streamline our teams work for the 10 weeks I was here. Day consisted of standups, blocks of coding throughout the day, shadowing and having meetings arranged by recruitment team or team I worked in.
Skills
Learnt about CI/CD pipeline work, terraform code, cloud and deploying to cloud for technicality. Major skill improvement/ honed was project management, ensuring worked in parallel with team and not against. Soft skills such as presenting and shadowing productively were also something I learnt throughout.
Responsibilities
Compared to the work my team did, project was stand-alone. However daily standups insured we were kept on track and motivated to complete the work. The responsibility meant meeting stakeholders often, to streamline our project work and ensure features are always being implemented.
Support & Guidance
Guidance was plenty from the team and wider team. Everyone was approachable and willing to leave their work to help. Something that stands out, a particular technical issue meant reaching out to someone from America, they messaged straight away and setup a meeting without hesitation.
Culture
Had multiple events throughout the internship as well as multitude of networking and speaker events. This highlighted the collaborative culture at JPM as well as hearing from seniors meant learning from their wisdom and the mistakes they made along the way
Your Impressions
