  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my time at IBM and feel that I gained a good insight ino the company and the different departments. I was given the chacnce to manage my own working life and was given a great amount of responsibility.

  • I had a wonderful reception from my team and was made to feel very comfortable. Despite the fact I was a placement student everyone treated me as if I was a key member of the team.

  • My managers not only helped me in my role but also took an interest in my personal development and assignments required by my university.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the start my workload was fairly light but I quickly picked up more work and achieved the perfect balance.

  • I was given a fair amount of responsibility but often found I had to persue such tasks myself to gain responsibility.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My computer skills have developed greatly and my experiences will prove invaluable in a graduate role.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office I was based in was fairly quiet but I was given a few opportunities to work from other busier sites

  • Initial set-up and access to systems was slow but in my department I was set up and ready to start almost immediately.

  • I was given the opportunity to take online training and attend workshops within office hours to contibute to my personal development.

  • my office was fairly quiet with only a few ITs but we did arrange social events.

  • I was based just outside Manchester so it was very affordable.

  • Great night out!
