The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement with IBM. I was given a number of amazing opporunities and was able to get involved in a number of exciting projects.
The team I worked within were very close-knit and we got on very well. Lots of banter and laughs.
I believe the level of support I was given was just right. There was structure set by my ine management yet I was able to make the role my own and work independently.
I beleve that the level of work is what you make it. My role was very unstable in the sense that the workload was very up and down. The 'down' times gave me the opportunity to look outside my role and get involved in extra curricular activities.
Resonsibility within IBM is earnt.
I don't believe that anything I've learnt whilst on placement will help me directly in my degree. However I believe this year has been hugely beneficial in my development and will be applicable to future work opportunities.
The Company
My office tended to b fairly quiet, however there was a great offsite and online communuty.
Foundation, the unit which run's the placement scheme, were organised and very thorough.
You are given numerou opporunities for development and to better yourself, however you have to take the initiative to participate in these opportunities.
