Overview
At first I was given a electronic project to create a demo for one of the companies ideas. I then created a demo after design and testing. Next I was given a verity of projects to choose from. All included learning opportunities as well as electronic projects to work on.
Skills
Yes. I developed my existing skills tremendously by being able to put what I learned at Uni into practice. I also learned how to make a PCB and now can have the skills I need to create any professional level electronic circuit board I can think of.
Responsibilities
Yes. After being given my project everything was up to me to get it done. I worked on every single aspect of my projects. The only downside is most of our projects were demos and not integral to the companies "real" work.
Support & Guidance
At first I felt it was not a lot, I felt thrown into the deep end. But I soon realised everyone was happy to help if you sought it out. I saw many professionals spending hours helping us interns.
Culture
It was very friendly and open. Professional but as consultants networking was encouraged so everyone was interested in what we were doing and we were the same.
Your Impressions
I thought it was one of the best 8 weeks of my life. I met many great interns I am good friends with now and learned so many important skills and life lessions.
Yes
Do it.
