Overview
On a day to day basis, this role involves: - data inputting and analysis using pivot tables and graphs in excel - leading team quality reviews with the use of quality tools like 8D QRCI and 7FM - facilitating improvements to the assembly line - assisting methods with meeting Forvia Group objectives - interacting with supervisors and gap leaders to meet their requirements
Skills
During this role I have gained and developed skills that include: - Use of Pivot tables in Excel to analyse data - Clear and confident communication with people at all levels within the plant - Understanding and use of quality review tools such as 8D QRCI, KATA, PDCA and 7FM - Understanding of coding and programming with some application of node red - Creating and presenting powerpoints
Responsibilities
Within my department i was given a good deal of responsibility. As I improved and progressed with my knowledge my responsibility grew and my manager was very good at displaying trust in me and showing confidence when giving me responsibility.
Support & Guidance
Within my department and on a day to day basis there was a very good level of support from my manager and methods colleague however, from the hr department in terms of checking up on how my placement was going it could have been better.
Culture
The culture within the plant requires a character that does not take things too personally and is ready for responsibility in their role. It can be a tough atmosphere and between some departments there can be a lack of respect. In addition to this, there is a lack of appreciation and recognition from higher up but, the managers are very good managers and show a lot of time and appreciation for the students
Your Impressions
Overall i enjoyed my placement due to the team that I was in and the group of friends that I was able to make. My team supported me at the start when i was still learning and gradually increased my responsibility which helped me to settle in

Make sure you understand what the plant does or what the specific industry area that your role is in. There are many good opportunities if you apply yourself and put yourself out there.
