Overview
Finding comparable evidence for all property types based on what the task and project entailed using different websites such as CoStar, EIG and Rightmove Plus to access this. Going on property inspections. Assisted on writing valuation reports and helping with development asset valuations. Constructing brochures. Writing up background documents on the properties in question trying to find the information needed such as location, description, business rates and EPC's etc.
Skills
I believe I have definitely learnt and developed new skills over the last 4 weeks by completing numerous different tasks that have really enhanced my knowledge and made me eager to learn more. I have learnt how to find comparable evidence and logging them on Excel, constructing brochures for background research and potential offer proposals, learning how to construct a valuation report and assisting on asset valuations determining the yield adopted for each property.
Business Insight
Learning about the business and the potential roles available was brilliant and insightful, making me eager to want to be a part of the business and the property world. The Departmental Overviews provided by the Graduate Team was great and has been brilliant for gaining new information and being able to apply this in my 4 week internship and being able to obtain this and apply it to any future experience gained.
Culture
The office environment was brilliant and I feel that I have established a good working relationship within the office and was made to feel very welcome throughout the experience and am very keen to return if possible.
Your Impressions
The experiences I have gained over my summer internship has been brilliant allowing me to extend my breadth of knowledge and develop new skills, it's made me hungry and passionate about a potential graduate scheme with Savills. The experience has been really varied from finding comparable evidence, to going out on property inspections and assisting on valuation reports.
Yes
Attend as many bootcamps and work experiences as possible as anything you do will be beneficial to you and to your depth of knowledge around the subject. Show enthusiasm and eagerness to learn through your application form providing background research of the company.
