Overview
Largely involves stock control, contractor management and general purchasing with other occasional projects when assigned.
Skills
Developed Office package software skills, CAD skills and soft skills such as communication and confidence.
Responsibilities
Fair amount of responsibility afforded to the student - important daily tasks which are manageable, with additional responsibility from other projects should you choose to take them.
Support & Guidance
Good support from team members/other around me. Lacking from others within and outside of plant
Culture
Very high work ethic an expectation, often leading to overworking and tension around the plant.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed the social aspect and the team I was working with, I feel like I developed a lot as a person. Some projects had high expectations and created stress, which was occasionally overwhelming.
No
For this particular role, don't expect a great deal of opportunities for engineering jobs. Be open minded and try to learn from experiences but try not to be pushed around.
