  • An Investment Banking Summer Intern at Jefferies would be given a diverse range of work, ranging from PowerPoint formatting to market updates writing, then to precedent transactions analysis. It depends on the nature of the team (industry, product or generalist).

  • Technical wise: useful PowerPoint & Excel shortcuts, valuation methodologies, attention to details, macro + specific market insights Soft skill wise: communication, teamwork, the best way to present yourself to new people etc

  • Quite adequate overall. Programme wise: regular check-in sessions with the Campus Recruitment Team & MD Advisor Scheme Team wise: a buddy per rotation that helps you with the work and takes care of your well-being + intern staffer that knows your stage of development and gives you work that helps you progress

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Flat, nimble and entrepreneurial. My thoughts were encouraged and appreciated. I barely felt the hierarchy and everyone was friendly and approachable

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. I was able to developed on all sorts of skills from the daily work, the final internship project as well as continuous support within and outside of my team.

  • 1. Present the best version of yourself but never pretend to be someone you aren’t. 2. Be prepared for every stage. 3. Jefferies is quite a different firm compared to its competitors so know its story.
