Overview
Day to day role depends on what intern project was given. My project involved pulling data with SQL into excel for more analysis/strategy and making presentations. Lots of meetings with people in and outside my team to understand what database to pull form, understanding terminology, getting ideas for project etc. Other projects might be less strategy and more technical, involving modelling etc with Python.
Skills
SQL, Excel, making effective powerpoint presentations and telling a story
Responsibilities
Yes, all intern projects are completely lead by interns. I had the freedom to take it in whatever direction
Support & Guidance
Lots of guidance - mentor + buddy system as well as a manager. People were really friendly, helpful, no judgement about asking questions
Culture
Good culture and work-life. Flexibility in working, as long as you work hard. ~9-5/6pm
Your Impressions
Enjoyed it. The work was interesting, the people were very friendly, and Cap1 holds many social events.
Yes
Don't be afraid to ask questions; during casing etc explain every step of the way. They want to hear how you think, not if you get to the answer
