Overview
Day-to-day tasks vary and will depend greatly on the type of project you are on. At the beginning of the project, I was given task more on a daily basis and had very frequent check ins with my line manager. But for mid-way through, I had a lot more autonomy. I had a whole workstream of the the project to oversee and I could plan my day based on this
Skills
I developed many project specific skills. But what I found the most useful was actually some of the most basic skill such as more efficient use of excel & PowerPoint, communication and interacting with clients
Responsibilities
At the beginning I was given tasks on a daily basis and had regular check-ins with my line manager. Later on I was given the responsibility to oversee a whole workstream in the project. So I would say the responsibility was built up
Support & Guidance
There were many avenues to reach out for support and guidance. Your direct team, your people lead, your HR contacts or the other placement students
Culture
The culture was quite encouraging and social. We would have regular social events after work which made getting to know the team easier and connect with them. The overall culture is encouraging. People often share there experiences, knowledge and ways how to improve
Your Impressions
I had a great time during my 1-year placement and have learned so much both professionally but also personally
