Strategy & Consulting Summer Analyst Review

The vacation scheme consists of spotlight sessions to ensure that each intern is able to explore and understand the various verticals (industries) of the company, while also being able to participate in a group mock case study of one of their accounts (client company). Besides that, interns could support various side-of-desk (SoD) work alongside the internship, which allowed interns to take part in actual work of the various industries, and also foster bonds and connections with existing consultants and analysts of the different functions.

I was able to learn new skills attributing to the consulting toolkit which is essential for any work within the consulting sector, which was through design thinking and consulting 101 sessions. Besides that, I was able to further develop my public speaking and presentation skills through the project presentations to partners of the firm, while developing essential team working skills through the development of the project which consisted of group members which were on hybrid working.

Being able to understand all about the business and potential roles available at Accenture allowed a more informed decision on the various industries or functions that I will be interested in upon returning to Accenture as a graduate analyst. Besides that, while understanding more about the potential roles available, I have built meaningful connections while also gaining more business acumen about the company, which is very important. This information will be the foundation of how I view the global economy.

The company culture focuses on networking while being very inclusive. Throughout the internship, I was able to participate in various networking events, further building my network within the business. This allowed me to build a more cohesive understanding of the business. Besides that, there are many employee networks and clubs in the company, which allow everyone to take part in anything that they are interested in, which fosters an inclusive culture. The general atmosphere of the company is that everyone wants to help each other grow.

I have enjoyed the insight a lot, which consisted of numerous amount of networking opportunities while also being able to take part in various socials within the company. For example, the BOUNCE table tennis social hosted by the company was a blast. The entire cohort of interns was much closer to each other after the social, which allowed a more inclusive and more cohesive group of interns compared to when everyone was starting out because everyone knew each other already.
