Overview
The role is very dynamic, you get to work across a variety of different projects within a team of specialists in their fields. You will help to team to support local regions marketing functions, a few examples are working with power partners, digital asset management, segmentation and SEO. Although you have the ability to shape the placement, and the team will try to accommodate this as much as possible.
Skills
More generally: Time management, critical thinking, organisation, team working, presentation skills, thought challenging, collaboration and confidence.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was initially shocked at how much we were expected to be involved. I was pushed to take ownership and execute my own ideas, being asked to present them onwards and be the point of contact for the projects.
Support & Guidance
There is a good balance of guidance and space for you to independently figure out different situations. You were never left to struggle, but you were also not always handed a solution. This allowed for you to work your own way around the business to find a solution, as you would have to if you weren’t in an intern role.
Culture
The employee culture at Johnson and Johnson / Kenvue is extremely supportive and social. We often have specific days where all employees across the globe come together to review and celebrate our recent performance. The office is extremely friendly and teams are very flexible.
Your Impressions
To the greatest extent I enjoyed my placement year. I have had a lot of enjoyment this last year, while also progressing exponentially. One of the most enjoying parts of interning here was the size of the young talent cohort. As you are joined by approx 20 other interns, as-well as those placed on the graduate scheme. It was great to share similar experiences with other interns, and have that support in place.
Yes
Ensure you resonate with the credo of Kenvue / JNJ, this is ingrained structurally so it’s good to ensure you align with the company in this way. Also, upon getting placed my advice would be to throw yourself into the role. Be confident, take ownership and shape the role as you wish.
