Overview
My role as a student engineer was to shadow senior engineer on projects and contribute to the team, I was taught as I went a long and experienced the work load in the office as well as on site.
Skills
Yes, I had improved my technical skills by Learning to use engineering software like MIDAS and TEDDS, this placement has also improved my confidence as I completed tasks which were new for me
Responsibilities
I was given a good amount of responsibility as I was tasked with completed my own work and then to review it later as part of the team, I had my own tasks to do and would later have them checked by senior members
Support & Guidance
The support was great, I was able to turn to any engineer whenever I was confused or needed help.
Culture
The office had a very inviting feeling, it was welcoming and felt like a great place to be in
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the placement, there were a lot of opportunities to have fun and go out, for example the site visits. Being able to travel out of city with fellow team members was a great time and allowed me to strengthen my connection with them
