Overview
Checking in with my supervisor to confirm what work I need to do each day. Using Civils 3D to create plans of water networks on various projects. Using Excel to calculate utility demands for projects. Creating content for submissions to clients.

Responsibilities
Yes, I was surprised at how much I was able to be involved in real projects. I was allowed to do work and use my own judgement to make decisions about designs.
Support & Guidance
I had a designated supervisor/buddy throughout the placement who I could ask anything and would give me support doing work if I needed it. The rest of the infrastructure team were also more than happy to help with any queries I had and so there is a lot of support available to interns.
Culture
I really liked the atmosphere. It was professional but sociable and I was able to make friends during my placement. It made coming to work an enjoyable experience every time.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement. It was 8 weeks which flew by. I enjoyed being able to use my own judgement in my work and it was great that the work I did was for real projects. The scale and range of projects also made it enjoyable as I was busy and not doing the same work everyday. The social atmosphere of the team also made my time enjoyable.

There are lots of teams/disciplines within the company so research the roles before choosing which to apply for.
