Overview
I assisted in the creation and implantation of marketing strategies by conducting competitor analysis and creating resources to aid Renault dealerships. On a day to day basis, my role varied greatly. I often worked on creating presentations for senior management that highlighted competitor strengths and weaknesses, as well as completing financial analysis on Microsoft excel.
Skills
My ability to use Microsoft excel greatly improved during my time at Renault. I started off as an novice, and I am now able to perform a variety of complex tasks. This is something I feel will definitely benefit me during my career. As well as this, my general work ethic, time management, and ability to effectively communicate with others have significantly improved.
Responsibilities
In the initial stages of my placement I completed less important tasks. As I grew into the role, my responsibility increased, and I was trusted with tasks that had a significant impact on business decisions. I was happy with how this unfolded as it allowed more for responsibility as my confidence grew.
Support & Guidance
I received a very good level of support and guidance. My manager always took time to explain tasks and suggest possible ways to complete them. Whilst also giving me the freedom to experiment and improve processes myself.
Culture
I thoroughly enjoyed working at Renault as everyone is friendly and welcoming. I always felt welcome and people were willing to take time out of their day to answer my questions I do however believe that frequently changing commercial objectives often created a pressurised environment that left employees stressed.
Your Impressions
I am very glad I undertook a placement with Renault. I was given opportunity to develop my skillset and I feel that I now far more prepared for a graduate scheme. For that reason I would recommend Renault to anyone.
Yes
My advice would be to take every opportunity that comes your way. Also, it is daunting in the beginning as it is completely different to university, but as soon as you get a hang of it, it is good fun!
