Overview
I assisted multiple surveyors across the RISE team. This included chasing arrears, dealing with BM/ RFM or tenant issues/ enquiries. It also entailed raising new WF's to upload on the system whether that was a new lease WF, a rent review or just a general utility recharge. My role also involved producing Service Charge Budget Reports, Quarterly Reports and Reconciliation Reports.
Skills
I believe that as a result of my job role I have enhanced my skill of critical thinking/ problem solving. As many of the Directors I worked with were always busy with calls etc, sometimes I would be in a situation where I would have to critically think and make informed decisions by myself (within reason). I also believe that my networking skills have improved since being at Savills.
Responsibilities
During my placement, I was not exposed to talking to clients. I only ever communicated with people internally e.g. Surveyors, Building Managers and RFMs. However, I was given projects where it was solely my input and I would present this to the relevant Director. Therefore, I believe I was given responsibility in some aspects but not all.
Support & Guidance
There was lots of support around me. Everyone was always happy to help whenever I had questions. I never felt like any question was a silly question.
Culture
There were lots of socials and events that went on throughout my placement year. I never missed one because they were always very fun. Everyone was super friendly and keen to socialise with each other.
Your Impressions
I loved it. I wish I could re-do the year. I have made some amazing connections within Savills that wish to stay in touch with in the future!
