Overview
Throughout the two days we were constantly working on our competencies, whether through groups tasks in break out rooms, or through self evaluation. We had a QnA session with two ambassadors who had completed the training programme, where we learnt of the opportunities available within and beyond the training programme. We also had frequent breaks, some of which we used to plan our 6-minute-lesson, which we later presented to our peers in day 2 and recived/gave feedback at the end.
Skills
Presentation, teaching skills, and self evaluation are the 3 competencies I'd say I most improved on. We had a very useful session on how to develop effective and authoritative teacher skills.
Business Insight
Very good, through the ambassadors and through the conclusion we learnt of the potential roles available within the training programme and after completion! I learnt of the structure of the two year programme, the opportunity to further continue training with TeachFirst, and the opportunity to work with partner firms after completion of paid summer projects that they organise in collaboration with TeachFirst.

Your Impressions
Quite a lot :) I didn't expect to become so self aware of my competencies through the self evaluation, and the teacher training skills session was very helpful since I work as a tutor part time, and I was intrigued to learn of the many opportunities!

Definitely apply for the taster programme! It gives you a crucial insight into what Teach First does and stands for, the opportunities available, and into what your life could be like as a teacher
