Overview
I was placed in the ESG department and built a backed service for a screen that's used to display companies' SFDR data (SFDR is a public European regulation). It was a fun project to build, I got to work with trees and there was lots of recursion involved. I also got to write a lot more code than I would have expected. The team is very supportive and always open to help whenever needed.
Skills
A lot of the new things I learned were specific to internal tooling. However, I also got to develop my overall engineering skills tremendously. It is a great place to learn because you are surrounded by excellent engineers who are willing to help and discuss anything at any time.
Responsibilities
Yes, absolutely. I got to take ownership for the entire project and had a say in a lot of design decisions.
Support & Guidance
I got a lot of support and guidance. Help was available whenever I needed it.
Culture
Very supportive, and extremely flexible on a lot of things. Great work-life balance.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it very much. There was a great balance of ample time to code, and lots of fun events.
Yes
If you value work-life balance, this is probably the best company in big-tech for it.
