Overview
I worked with python and typescript. Also gained an insight to the finance world, which was something I wanted getting into the job. I learned a lot from my internship and the team that I was assigned. The got to experience the whole development lifecycle and real world product development.
Skills
Yes. My python skills prior to Bloomberg's internship was limited to leetcode questions. But during my internship, I got to work with python to develop solutions. The same goes for typescript. Even though, I have worked with Angular in the past, my typescript knowledge was limited. In addition to these, I got to work with Docker.
Responsibilities
I would say I was given enough responsibility during my internship. They won't give you more than what you can handle but just enough to get you out of your comfort zone and learn. Which I really appreciated. Plus help was right there when you needed it.
Support & Guidance
I had the guidance of my mentor all the time. Anytime I asked for help my team and my mentor were more than willing to come to my aid.
Culture
I don't know how to answer this, but I really liked it. They were all welcoming I guess. I don't know, but I did enjoy my stay if that helps.
Your Impressions
I liked all of it. It was nice. I was more focused on the technical aspect of things. Whatever things you want to get our of it, you wouldn't be disappointed in the end.
Yes
Not specific to Bloomberg, but know what you want to get what you want out of your internship and keep an open mind.
