Overview
conduct observational studies on oncology patients. this included questionnaires and taking samples from patients. We would have to screen patients to ensure they were eligible for studies and then consent them if they wanted to take part in the study. we would then collect the data and input it into databases
Skills
i developed my digital capabilities, my professional communication skills and improved in my time management skills i’d acquired at university.
Responsibilities
yes i personally got to case hold a study so was responsible for overviewing everything that went on during that study.
Support & Guidance
lots of support. there were always other practitioners or nurses around that i could go to to ask for help
Culture
there was an amazing atmosphere in my team with everyone always willing to help out. equality and inclusivity play a major part in nhs ethos.
Your Impressions
i thoroughly enjoyed my placement. it was a great opportunity to meet some amazing people and to develop skills that i would never learnt had it not been for my placement
