Overview
Testing and concluding on account balances of Insurance clients.
Skills
Excel skills improve dramatically. Ability to organise and lead client calls. Critical thinking and analysis.
Responsibilities
Was given lead over a variety of account balances; led stand-up meetings with the team and client calls.
Support & Guidance
Was given a 'buddy' on arrival to the firm for general queries and a PEL (People Leader) for more career and exam related questions.
Culture
We had socials around once every three months and the team were always up for general nights out / coffees.
Your Impressions
It has taught me substantial amounts about the professional services industry but also about the insurance industry. I made a network of friends and developed personally and professionally; because of this, I enjoyed my placement a lot.
Yes
The interview process isn't easy and neither is the job, however, it is worth the graft and is a great start to any young professionals career.
