Overview
The first few days were induction: this meant we had a collection of talks and training sessions to prepare us for the weeks ahead. We also had ice-breaker opportunities to meet and connect with our cohort.
Skills
The vacation scheme gave me a plethora of knowledge about how a law firm operates, what skills are needed to succeed, and where my skillset is best suited. I definitely gained a lot from the 2 weeks.
Business Insight
The firm gave us a very detailed talk during the induction about the different areas of the business/roles available should we be successful in gaining a training contract. They also gave us specific talks on their main areas of practice.
Culture
The company culture was what stood out to me the most. Commercial law firms often get a bad rep for being unapproachable and 'scary'. Clyde & Co is the complete opposite. I felt comfortable and valued 100% of the time. Really impressed.
Your Impressions
Loved it.
Yes
Be yourself, and make sure to show who you really are. Clydes are a very friendly and inclusive firm, and the people around me who made it to the vacation scheme reflected this.
