Overview
The role changed through out the year, but largely involved managing stakeholders, imputing on real-time product/campaign launches. Managing requests from team members coinciding with different projects.
Skills
My skill set has developed exponentially, both in specific marketing knowledge and skills, to transferable abilities. It gained me experiences university could not compete with, being thrust into real life application of marketing functions pushes you to learn and develop quickly. Cheesy but true - I came back a different person after my year in industry!
Responsibilities
Yes I was given as much responsibility as I was willing to take on, and was continually encouraged to do so. I was able to shape the year, accommodated by the team I was allowed to jump into projects that sparked my interest. In the final 6 months of the placement I was the owner of serval projects and was wholly responsible for their deliverance .
Support & Guidance
The early talent team and the EMEA level team I was placed with were both incredibly supportive when I required. They have a good balance of letting you figure things out for yourself, and then knowing where to step in and support. We were always encouraged to keep asking questions up until the very end.
Culture
The company definitely takes care of their employees and there is a lovely atmosphere in the office. Everyone is always friendly and happy to grab a coffee even if you are strangers! We get fresh fruit served daily, a whole variety of tea/coffee, and the staff shop benefits. Not to mention the food is restaurante standard, and not short of choices. That combined with the staff and support available (as needed), makes for a great place to work.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it massively and I will always be extremely grateful for the abundance of experiences I was able to grow within. It was great to be a part of such a big placement cohort, as there was around 20 of us all experiencing similar struggles and opportunities. One of the most enjoyable parts is that you are included in the business as an employee and not just seen as a temporary placement. You are considered a valuable investment!
Yes
Ensure you resonate with the credo and have enthusiasm for the products. Jump into the experience and make sure you make the most of it, convey the need for this level of participation.
