Overview
3 week placement - one week in London which involved speeches from a wide range of people across the firm, insights into the firm and what we could get involved it. The other two weeks was spent in a regional office of your choice where you got to see the day-to-day work the lawyers did, as well as getting involved in research tasks, presentations, court hearings etc
Skills
I really developed my legal research skills as well as my analytical skills. I also grew in confidence in terms of speaking in front of people and presenting.
Business Insight
It was quite overwhelming at first as it is so different to university but by the end of the 3 weeks I felt I really understood the kind of work they conducted as well as the people who worked there
Culture
Everyone was super super friendly and took time out of their busy days to help you or even just chat to you. We ate lunch with new people every day and it was so nice meeting everyone. People loved talking about what they did and how to get involved- both within the legal sector and also in a social setting
Your Impressions
I absolutely loved the insight, I really didn’t want to leave at the end of the three weeks. I felt so welcomed and supported the whole way through. It was incredibly well planned out and really made you see how the firm treats its employees
Yes
Be yourself. Everyone says it but people can tell when you’re trying to be something you’re not. If you don’t understand something just ask and there will be someone who is more than happy to help you
