Overview
The hours were generally 9-5. In the first week we attended scheduled talks in London. The next two weeks were spent experiencing different legal practice areas in our home offices, attending meetings and drafting minutes. There was one assessed group project and presentation.
Skills
Yes, my communication skills were developed by the daily in office interaction the internship provided. My analysis skills were developed by the close reading of contracts.
Business Insight
Very exciting, the experience made all the potential roles in the legal profession much more tangible.
Culture
The company culture was surprisingly welcoming and relaxed, very open to answer any questions I had as an intern and to help me settle in.

Make sure your CV is up to date and corresponds well with the professional culture at DLA Piper. Try to relax at the assessment centre, they want to get to know you, not how much you know about law.
